The buildings blend old and new, and show the 'eclectic style' of Japanese Buddhism of the 18th and 19th centuries. The bell tower stands on a small mound, with a curving roof. The Lunfansuo keeps the look of a traditional Japanese house, with a dark timber structure. Shuxin Hall combines a red-brick structure with Western-style timber roof trusses, while keeping a Japanese-style roof, an unusual mix of Japanese and Western construction.
