    "description_en": "In the Japanese colonial period, the Taiwan Electric Power Company was an important energy body at a time when industry was just starting to develop. Its president's official residence was built near the city walls. After Taiwan's retrocession it served as a central government guesthouse and as the official residence of the Chairman of Taiwan Province. Surrounded by high walls, the residence is in a Western style, with a tiled roof, white walls and arched windows recalling the villas of Italy or Spain in southern Europe. Many senior officials' residences of the Japanese colonial period used various European house styles. The Western-style house has a garden and an arched entrance porch, with Greek-style columns inside as decoration. The staircase is wooden and the interior finish is simple. There were originally Japanese-style rooms at the back, later demolished. This pattern, a Western-style front with Japanese-style rooms attached behind, reflects how Japanese officials lived in Taiwan at the time.",
    "description_ko": "일본 통치 시기의 대만전력 주식회사(臺灣電力株式會社)는 산업이 막 발전하기 시작하던 때의 중요한 에너지 기관이었어요. 회사 사장의 관저는 성곽 근처에 지어졌어요. 대만 광복 뒤에는 중앙 정부 영빈관과 대만성 주석 관저로 쓰였어요. 높은 담으로 둘러싸인 관저는 서양식으로, 기와지붕, 흰 벽, 아치형 창이 남유럽 이탈리아나 스페인의 별장을 떠올리게 해요. 일본 통치 시기의 고위 관저들은 여러 유럽 주택 양식을 즐겨 썼어요. 정원이 있는 이 서양식 집은 입구에 아치형 현관이 있고, 안쪽에 그리스식 기둥을 장식으로 세웠어요. 계단은 나무로 만들었고, 실내 마감은 간결해요. 원래 집 뒤편에 일본식 방들이 있었지만 나중에 헐렸어요. 앞은 서양식으로, 뒤에는 일본식 방을 덧붙인 이런 구성은 당시 대만에 살던 일본 관리들의 생활 방식을 보여 줘요.",
