On 29 July 2011 the country's securities market reached its goal of 100 per cent dematerialisation, making it the 13th of the world's 25 largest markets by capitalisation to go fully paperless. To mark this milestone, the Depository and Clearing Corporation created Taiwan's first stock museum on the site of the vault where share certificates were once kept.
