How it started
Deal Labs started in 2025 as an Instagram channel (@dealseoul) and became DealSeoul, a Seoul guide for foreign visitors tied to the subway map. DealTaipei is the same app for Taipei.
It starts where a visitor starts: the station. Every MRT station and its exits, and the sights, temples and night markets near each one.
Who makes it
DealTaipei is edited by Young Cho, founder of Deal Labs (LinkedIn). Born and raised in Seoul for 20 years, then two decades in the United States and Canada through middle school, high school, and university, and worked as a pilot in both countries.

A few honest things
Where it comes from
Stations, exits and lines come from the Transport Data eXchange of Taiwan's Ministry of Transportation and Communications. Sights come from the Tourism Administration's tourism database, with names in other languages from Wikidata and photos from Wikimedia Commons. The full list of sources is on the terms page.
What's not here yet
Opening hours: the tourism database carries them for only a few places, so we don't guess. Live train arrivals and restaurants are not on the site yet.
