About
The Chanchushan settlement lies at the southern end of the Taipei Basin, beside the Gongguan shopping area by National Taiwan University. Huanmin New Village, built along the hillside, is an air force military dependants' village (眷村) that has been fully preserved.

The community is strongly committed to cultural preservation and is a place that puts into practice the idea of 'showing history through the community'. Drawing on its ecology, community building, education and architecture, it looks back on the stories of the military village era, keeps up neighbourly mutual help, and brings in natural resources to create environmental learning routes. Huanmin New Village is to develop as a sustainable hillside military village, adding to the culture and local memory of southern Taipei.
