About
The circle played an important part in the development of Taipei's old city. It was like the heart of the busy Dadaocheng district, at the point where four roads meet: Chongqing North Road, Nanjing West Road, Ningxia Road and Tianshui Road.

It drove local trade and industry, which spread to the surrounding old Jiancheng area, and it was the cradle of many successful business people. When foundations were dug for its rebuilding in 2002, the historic Dadaocheng Circle air-raid water reservoir was discovered. Many people also remember the circle for its food. It has since been turned into an urban green space, keeping its original old well.
