The Songjiang Road fortune-telling street is in the pedestrian underpass at Minquan East Road and Songjiang Road, in front of Xingtian Temple. In earlier years, thanks to the steady stream of worshippers at Xingtian Temple, many people who drew fortune slips at the temple would also visit a fortune-teller here to check the answer again.

Over time its reputation spread, and with international tourists adding to it, the street became known abroad. Television crews and celebrities from Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea and elsewhere have come to have their fortunes told and to film programmes, and the small consulting rooms are hung with photos taken with foreign celebrities.
