Xinsheng South Road is known as the 'Road to Heaven' because so many churches, temples, Buddhist halls and other places of worship stand along it. From south to north they include Huai'en Church, Zhenli Church, the mosque, this church, Taipei Church and Weili Church.

Holy Family Catholic Church Taipei stands opposite Da'an Forest Park. Seen from above it forms a cross, and at night its lighting gives it a soft white glow. The church is about 21 metres high and has no beams or pillars. Its tent-like structure avoids any sense of confinement or visual obstruction, to help worshippers pray quietly and lift their hearts, and it is an important Catholic place of prayer. Inside, stained glass and daylight give the church a natural, sacred atmosphere. Its 18 stained-glass panels of Bible stories, more than a century old, were made in 1878 by a French artist and were brought from Belgium to Taiwan in 1998. Below each panel is a text explaining the Bible story it shows.
