Taiwan Traditional Theatre Center

It is used for performances, arts education and cultural leisure. The architecture draws on the simple, suggestive aesthetics of Chinese opera, turning the traditional 'one table, two chairs' stage set upside down into a new form as a way of exploring contemporary directions for the art. The centre works to invigorate the sector and sees itself as 'a home for traditional performing arts companies', supporting them with production resources, high-standard facilities and professional front- and back-of-house services. The complex has two professional theatres (a large hall and a small hall), the 3102 multi-purpose hall, an international conference hall, an audio-visual room, and open spaces including an outdoor plaza and an opera platform.
