Dahu Park

Built in 1979 in the style of a Chinese garden, it is a regional park with a lake of just over 10 hectares. Plants such as bald cypress, golden shower trees, Taiwan golden rain trees and azaleas flower in turn through the seasons, colouring different parts of the park. Egrets, night herons and ducks are often seen by the lake, along with seasonal birds such as grey herons and great egrets. Traditional-style structures include Jindai Bridge, the Jiuqu (Nine-Turn) Bridge and the Shuixie Getai waterside pavilion. Photographers come to capture Jindai Bridge's arch and its reflection on the lake, which recall an ink-wash painting. The Jiuqu Bridge takes its name from its winding deck, with nine turns and thirteen bends. The waterside pavilion has two storeys, and from it you can photograph MRT Wenhu Line trains and look out over the whole park. Visitors can walk the willow-lined lakeside path and the bald cypress grove, fish, picnic and swim, and combine a visit with hikes in the nearby hills.
