Ganzhou Street is popularly known as Tea Street and holds an important place in the tea history of Dadaocheng. At its peak, Ganzhou Street and nearby Guisui Street alone had more than a dozen tea merchants.

Others that played a key part in opening up the tea trade at the time were 錦記茶行 on Guide Street, 新芳春茶行 on Minsheng West Road, 南興茶行 on Xining North Road (now 全祥茶廠), and 有記名茶 on Chongqing North Road. Ganzhou Street has declined, but some tea merchants remain and follow traditional tea-making techniques, keeping up an authentic tea culture; their tea goes through a complex series of processing steps. Chaoyang Park on Chongqing North Road is a tea-themed park that records the tea industry's past contribution and aims to revive business in the old community by combining tea with culture, leisure and tourism.
