Heping Herb Garden (Wanhua Park No. 402)

It covers 4,693 square metres and is roughly triangular. The site once held the sanatorium 仁濟療養院 and houses. The surroundings were run-down, living conditions were poor and the area spoiled the cityscape, so the city government built the park as part of the Wanhua urban renewal. It kept the existing healthy trees and used simple landscaping to improve the surroundings and provide lawns for public use. The park's opening ceremony was held on 13 November 2006. On the Xiyuan Road side there is a garden of fragrant and medicinal herbs. Along the paths from Mengjia Avenue to the historic building are seats and an activity plaza of about 256 square metres, and shrubs such as 藍蝴蝶 and osmanthus are planted between the plaza and the building's corridor. There is also a large lawn, with trees such as banyan, 蒲葵, 朴樹, camphor and 棍棒椰子. The shade of the trees has made the park a place where local residents relax and chat.
