Just off busy Zhonghua Road at the corner of Changsha Street is a quiet garden site with historic buildings. The buildings blend old and new, and show the 'eclectic style' of Japanese Buddhism of the 18th and 19th centuries.

The bell tower stands on a small mound, with a curving roof. The Lunfansuo keeps the look of a traditional Japanese house, with a dark timber structure. Shuxin Hall combines a red-brick structure with Western-style timber roof trusses, while keeping a Japanese-style roof, an unusual mix of Japanese and Western construction. The historic buildings have been restored and adapted for new uses, and also provide a place to rest in the city.
