Nanjichang Night Market

'Nanjichang' (South Airport) is an old place name left from the Japanese colonial period, when the Japanese army had a military airfield here. Over time the area was rebuilt as military dependents' villages and public housing, and as many people came and went it grew into today's Nanjichang Night Market. Snacks in the market include 山內雞肉飯 chicken rice, sesame flatbread, stinky tofu and sesame oil chicken, as well as tube rice cake with menus in Chinese, English and Japanese, freshly made pan-fried buns, crisp oyster fritters, and douhua and shaved ice.
