Many scenes of the 2010 film 艋舺 were shot around Longshan Temple, Qingcao (Herb) Lane and Bopiliao, which boosted tourism in the area. Xichang Street Night Market is beside Longshan Temple, and the street had busy commerce in early times.

The city government has re-planned the stalls and gathered them in the middle of the road: stalls near Guangzhou Street mainly sell clothing and general goods, while food stalls are concentrated on the part of Xichang Street near Guilin Road. Well-known snacks in the area include douhua (tofu pudding), herbal tea, oily rice and potstickers. Xichang Qingcao Lane is in Lane 224, Xichang Street, beside the night market, and is a well-known herb lane; as soon as you step in there is a strong smell of herbs. Several shops in the lane specialise in herbs, selling many kinds of fresh green medicinal plants and dried, ground leaves that people can take home and brew themselves. They also sell their own herbal drinks, such as herbal tea, bitter tea and 洛神花 tea.
