About
Commonly called the Ximending Mazu Temple, it is counted with Mengjia Longshan Temple and Mengjia Zushi Temple as one of the three great temples of Mengjia in the Qing period. Its distinctive feature is that Taiwanese and Japanese deities are worshipped together, the only such case in Taiwan.

The main hall is dedicated to Tianshang Shengmu, Mazu, who watches over travellers and merchants. The side hall enshrines Kobo Daishi, founder of Japan's Shingon school, and monks from Mount Koya in Japan come every year to hold a ceremony. The temple also has a small rest area with tables and chairs, and toilets, in the passage hall.
