About
The bridge is 167 metres long and crosses the Keelung River, linking Neihu and Songshan districts. Its design is unusual: it is held by four main steel cables at the centre, and the deck curves in an S shape under a bright red steel-ribbed arch, with wooden railings and pink and light-blue paving. It is a landmark public structure. The bridge is open only to pedestrians and bicycles, not to cars or motorcycles. It is a shortcut between Neihu, Raohe Street Night Market and Songshan Railway Station, greatly cutting travel time between Songshan and Neihu. After dark the bridge is lit, and photographers use it as a subject for Taipei night scenes. The bridge also has a terminal pier for the Blue Highway river boats.
