About
Songshan Station is one of the oldest stations in Taiwan. When the first railway from Keelung to Hsinchu was built in the Guangxu reign of the Qing dynasty, Songshan already had a simple ticket office.

The Songshan area was developed early. It was originally a settlement of the Maolijihou community of the Ketagalan plains indigenous people, and its old name was Dajiana Xikou Street (大加納錫口街). In 1887 (the 13th year of the Guangxu reign), dragon-and-horse postage stamps were used in place of tickets. In 1920 (the ninth year of the Taisho era), during the Japanese colonial period, the area was renamed Songshan Village, Qixing County, Taipei Prefecture, and Xikou Station was renamed Songshan Station.
