About
This leisure area near the Xindian River is where Taipei's water supply originated, and it is the only stretch of the city's riverside landscape without an embankment. It is a place for people to relax and enjoy the river views, and one of the few leisure areas in the city used around the clock.

In the morning people come to exercise, practise martial arts, run and cycle, and a bicycle rental station lets visitors ride along the riverside cycle path. In the evening there are international food stalls and bars with character, and live bands play, making it an open-air bar area rarely found in the city. On the south side of the plaza is PIPE Live Music, converted from the city-designated historic Hunshui (raw water) Pumping Station. It is one of the few cases in the world of a historic pumping station reused as a music venue. It has been the first stage for many well-known Taiwanese bands and the place where many young people first learned lighting and sound technology. The plaza also holds regular markets focused on young creators' crafts and handmade goods, with live DJ sets.
