About
In the Xinsheng Park area, the botanical garden combines a diamond-grade green building with the knowledge of horticultural experts, which is rare in Taiwan. Centred on people, plants and the environment, it arranges plants from across Taiwan by climate and region to show Taiwan's ecology in miniature, creating the only exhibition greenhouse in Taiwan with the most species on display per unit of area.

Its display zones cover Taiwanese native plants, tropical and subtropical plants, orchids and ferns, succulents, temperate plants and alpine plants. The temperate zone also has a display of begonia varieties: Professor Peng Jingyi of the national research academy 中研院 contributed more than a hundred varieties from around the world, gathered over more than 20 years, to introduce these begonias with their unusual leaf shapes and colourful patterns. More than a thousand kinds of plants are on display in the building.
