The shrine is opposite MRT Jiantan Station, beside the Yangming branch office of the water company (自來水公司事業處陽明分處). Concrete steps lead up to the reservoir, and the shrine stands beside it.

The stone lanterns, the stone bearing the shrine's name and the water basin from its original construction remain, together with a pair of guardian lion-dogs (狛犬). It is a Shinto shrine left from the Japanese colonial period, and its layout is largely intact. It is near an MRT station. Above it is a raised area, the Yuanshan Reservoir, an important point in the Caoshan Waterworks System. Although it is only a road away from the Shilin shopping area, it is a quiet place.
