About
The wharf is on the left bank of the Keelung River at Yuanshan. Yuanshan, formerly called Yuanzaishan, is the 'dragon's head' of the Dalongdong landform.

With the Keelung River flowing past, it was once a marshy area where seawater flowed in and out, and the excavated Yuanshan archaeological site and shell mound show where early people lived. Jiantan, next to Yuanshan, takes its name from Zheng Chenggong (Koxinga) thrusting his sword into the pool to draw water. In the Japanese colonial period the Japanese built the Taiwan Shrine and the shrine's outer garden on land west of Zhonglie (Martyrs') Shrine beside today's 圓山飯店, which shows the importance of the site. Dajia Wharf is on the south bank of the Keelung River, about 200 m west of Dazhi Bridge. It is a pier for the 藍色水路 ('Blue Waterway') boats, with two return routes: Dajia to Yuanshan, and Dajia to Neihu Science Park.
